First weekend of Volleyball

Well, this was our first weekend tournament for this club season and it was a challenging one BUT all I see ahead of us is positivity.

I have to say that it takes me at least 3 days to recuperate from trips on the weekend and I didn't even have to drive this weekend. You find out that once you get home that muscles that you forgot you had HURT. I mean even my ponytail hurts after tournament weekends and I don't even play. Does that mean I'm getting old? DON'T ANSWER THAT!! hahaha! Tournaments away from home sure make you realize how great life really is.....you've got a place to stay the night away from home, cable TV (even HBO) :-), someone to make your bed for you and bring you clean towels every day......that's a pretty good life to me. The hotel we stayed at even provided breakfast, DINNER and free FOUNTAIN DRINKS ALL DAY! Are you kidding me? I mean it just doesn't get much better than that. Plus, this weekend reminded me how lucky I am to have another volleyball family that I am so happy to be around. We take care of one another, cheer for one another, back each other up, and truly treat one another as family. I know that this doesn't happen much anymore in the world of youth sports but somehow God continually blesses us each and every year bringing our volleyball family closer and closer together. Once in a while there are those that don't fit with our group and somehow find their way out, but when that does happen, he replaces them with other pieces. BUT there are times when he has other plans for some members and they have to journey away from us to keep on their path. There are even times when he takes them to another CONTINENT to do his work!!! We get to see some amazing things happen to the people in our volleyball family. Some are missed more than words can say on a daily basis, but we will always have the love of volleyball to bring us back together. And that's pretty AWESOME to share.

I hope each of you had an awesome weekend if you were on the road playing some volleyball or even if you were the one that had to stay home and play with a volleyball in the back yard..........as long as you love and respect this sport it will love and respect you back!!!!
